He was born May 9, 1988 in Halifax County. He joined Roanoke Zion Baptist Church at an early age. He attended school in Halifax County up to his ninth grade year, after which he moved to Winston-Salem where he attended Mount Tabor High School.
He volunteered in the Orthopedic Unit at Walter Reed Veterans Hospital, Washington, D.C. He received various athletic awards in baseball and basketball and other academic achievements.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his mother, Josephine Reid, of Winston-Salem; father, Carleton E. Knight Sr. (Kathy) of Tillery; two brothers, Darrell Reid, of Greensboro and Kendell Knight of Tarboro; three sisters, Melanie Moore of Rocky Mount, Tarsha Hunter, of Enfield and Yolandia Knight of Tarboro; two grandmothers, Jessie Hill and Mattie Knight both of Scotland Neck; eight aunts, Patricia Edmond of New Carrollton, Md., Doris Shields (Curtis) of Scotland Neck, Linda McCallister (Otis) of Raleigh, Vernadine Reid of Winterville, Geraldine Wiggins (Gordon) of Scotland Neck, and Monica Mitchell (Herbert) of Halifax; three uncles, Daniel Earl Knight, and Frank Reid Jr. (Patricia) of Scotland Neck, and Clarence Reid of Kentucky; godparents, Julius and Tonya Smith of Fort Washington, Md.; godsister and godbrother, Julius Smith II and Geri Smith of Fort Washington; one stepsister, Kenya Harris of Greensboro; one stepbrother, William Harris of Pembroke; one niece Teniyah Reid of Halifax; a best friend, Hansom McCoy of Winston-Salem and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 30, at the Scotland Neck Auditorium in Scotland Neck. Repast followed at Roanoke Zion Baptist Church, Scotland Neck.
Lionel Whidbee Funeral Home, 515 E. 12th, Scotland Neck is handling the arrangements, where cards, flowers and other acts of kindness may be sent.
A viewing was held from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 29, at the funeral home.
