Born in Manhattan, NY on February 26, 1932 and raised in the Bronx, Sheila was a long time resident of Northport.
Sheila received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Hunter College. She was a school teacher in the Elmont and Northport school districts. She was an active parishioner at St. Philip Neri Parish and a much-loved golfer at the Huntington Crescent Club.
Sheila was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed music, travel and golfing.
She leaves behind her husband Peter. Her children Kevin and Mary Lee; Kate Hawkins; Dina and Paul Pigott; and PJ and Kathy; As well as grandchildren, John, Mike and Joe Barry; Ryan Hawkins, Will, Chris and Matthew Pigott; and PJ, Amelia and Brendan Barry. She is the dear sister of Sr. Patricia Connolly OP, and Maureen DeBono.
Services held at Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home, Northport. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Philip Neri Church, Northport. Interment to follow at Northport Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to Hospice House, East Northport, NY who took such wonderful care of Sheila in her last days.
