Kathryn "Maxine" Fender, 70, of Savannah, GA., passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2005 in Emanuel County Nursing Home in Swainsboro, GA. after a lengthy illness. She was born in Lanier County, GA. on March 21, 1935 to the late Mack and Laura Sirmans. She was a member of Clayton Miller Methodist Church in Savannah, GA. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Howell Fender, son Steven Howell Fender, sister, Bernice Nix and brother, Charlie Sirmans. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law Donna G. and Hugh Brewer Atlanta, GA, Laura Anne and John Kirby, Swainsboro, GA, Allison Leigh and Jerry Cannon, Rincon, GA; 10 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Corbitt, Lakeland, GA and Lucille Smith, Lakeland, GA. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, November 11, 2005 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with Rev. Tony Crosby officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A family committal service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2005 at Fender Cemetery.
