Whitney Sapp

Asheville - Todd Whitney Sapp, of Asheville, died Tuesday, January 24th, 2012 at Solace Hospice Center. He was born April 4th, 1958 in Springfield, IL. He graduated in 1989 from Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory with an Associates of Science degree in turf management. In 1991-1992, he was superintendant of golf at Talo'fo'fo Golf Resort on the Island of Guam. He was responsible for the construction of the resort's $120 million golf course. He served as assistant superintendant at Asheville Country Club. He later owned and operated a local landscape company and also worked in construction. He is preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Sapp and brother, Stephen Sapp. He is survived by his loving son, Hunter Sapp of New York City; sister, Debi (Alan) Baum of Chatham, IL; brother, Mark Sapp of Mesa, AZ; father, Dick (Beverly) Sapp of Springfield, IL; and many loving and supportive friends who he considered family. Cremation will be accorded by Asheville -Maple Springs Crematory. Donations may be made to John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Hospice Center, P.O. Box 5779, Asheville, NC, 28813.
