Mrs. Ruth Ferree Newton, 78, formerly of Greensboro, passed away Friday, August 12, 1994, after declining heath.
She was retired from Guilford County School Board office and was a member of Palm Street Christian Church. For the past ten years, she resided in Tucker, Ga., with her daughter.
She is survived by a son, Joel L. Newton of Orlando, Fla.; daughter, Gayle N. Green of Atlanta; a foster sister, Betty Wilson of Reidsville; and five grandchildren, Mrs. Gayla Stahl of Lawrenceville, Ga., Scott Newton of Julian, Mrs. Heather Neal of Phoenix, Ariz., Lisa Newton of Orlando, Fla., Greg Newton of Orlando, Fla.; and many cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 14 at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home and burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The Rev. Conrad Cornelius will officiate.
