Her birth name is probably Wilhelmina Obarowski with "Minnie" as her nickname, like her mother. The surname has several spellings in various records, but as the informant on Minnie's death certificate, her mother signed the name as "Obarowski". The family eventually changed their surname to "Obert", but that didn't happen until after the child's death. She died at home, 3439 East 75th Street, Cleveland, a victim of diphtheria complicated by sepsis. She had been sick for 6 days. If she is related to the family of Julius Ewert's wife, Wilhelmina, as suspected, then she is one of 5 cousins in this extended family who died within one year of diphtheria. Her mother is Wilhelmina Stiber or Stabbe or Stebbe, according to various documents (Stebbe appears on her mother's death certificate). Her father is Adam Obarowski, who changed his name to Adam Obert. They emigrated from Bremen in Germany, arriving in Baltimore on 22 April 1891 aboard the SS Weimar.
