Ruby Kennon Adkins, age 94 went home to be with her Savior on Wednesday, January 15th at Hospice Home of Rockingham County. Mrs Adkins was a resident of Morehead Nursing Center since July, 2010.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 3 pm at Draper Pentecostal Holliness Church of which she was a member. A private burial to be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Monday.

Mrs. Adkins was born August 5, 1919 to the late Will and Dollie Kennon. She retired from Fieldcrest Mills. Mrs. Adkins was a devoted member of the women's ministry at her church. She was a loving mother and sister. Ruby will be know as a person who was always there for others in need, always putting other before herself.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean Bryant of Stoneville; brothers, Jesse Kennon and Billy Kennon of Eden; sisters, Viola Allen , Beatrice Blanchard (Manfred), Frances Pierce (Roger) all of Eden, Veronica Duck (Phillip) of Lake Norman; four grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart, Rhonda Moore, Randy Bryant, Tim Bryant (Julie) all of Greensboro, Roger Bryant of Chatham,VA; four great grandchildren, Amy Bryant (Bill), Ariel Moore both of Greensboro, Amanda Bryant of Randleman, Aaron Moore (Pam) of Mcleansville and numerous great great grandchildren, whom were the love of her life.

She was predeceased along with her parents by brother, Melvin Kennon; sisters, Hazel Robertson and Lucille Baker; son in law, Robert Bryant.

Her family wishes to thank Dr. Terry Daniel, Morehead Nursing Center and Hospice Home for all there special love and care.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 2 till 3 pm at the Church.
