Daughter of George Warren and Mary Harvey. Her first husband was George W. Crawley for whom she married January 22, 1888 in Halifax County, NC. After his death, Martha R. Crawley married W. H. Melvin on January 20, 1909 in Halifax County, NC. It is not certain if they divorced or just separated. They were living apart in 1920. The death certificate for Mattie Crawley indicates that she was widowed at the time of her death and was buried on March 23, 1922 in the Harvey grave yard. Nick Crawley (her son) of Littleton, NC was the informant.

NOTE: She was my great grandmother, and these are my family's photos of her and her family. There are lots of grave stones in the Harvey Cemetery without names on them, so I do not know which one marks her grave.
