7th Governor of New York. He served as mayor of Schenectady in 1798 then took a seat in the State Legislature where he served from 1805 to 1808. From 1808 to 1822 he was a justice of the Supreme Court of New York. He served as governor from 1823 to 1824. Though his burial location is unknown he remains are most likely somewhere Saint George's Churchyard in Schenectady but the remaining headstones in the churchyard are in too poor of a condition to read.
