Johann Friedrich Fieker born November 4, 1804, Rohe Estate #5 in Eisbergen, then known as Prussia. He immigrated in 1833 to the United States, living in New York until 1839, when he returned to Germany. He brought his parents, Harmon, his father and Augusta his mother, brother and sister to the United States in 1840, coming directly to Brunswick township, Chariton County, MO.
He came to the place where he now lives in 1848, when there were but two or three residents on the prairie, and first bought a 160 acre tract of land on which he began making a farm. To this he has since added until he now has a fine landed estate of 700 acres. Up until about 1873 he grew mostly tobacco, but since then his main crops have been grain, largely wheat.
His dad, Harmon, died in 1842; his mother, Augusta, two years afterwards.
On May 30, 1841 he married Ernestine Catharine Mansen, the daughter of Johann Henke Mansen and Catharine Homeier Mansen Ernestine was also from Eisbergen, having been born at #22 Eisbergen. She immigrated with her parents to the United States at age 22 in 1840.
Johann and Ernestine moved to Bowling Green Prairie in 1848. He served in the State Militia during the Civil War, and returning to farm until his death March 28, 1885.
Frederick and Ernestine had five children; Mary, now the wife of Chas. Brandt; Richard, who married Miss Mary Gross, and died April 22, 1883; William, the husband of Caroline Kruss, who died February 16th, 1876; Caroline, now the wife of Wm. Brandt, and Frederick, who died quite young.
