Funeral arrangements for W.H. Denner, 37 years old, 505 W. 27th Street, who was held by county officers recently in a Chicago embezzlement probe, had not been completed Thursday night, according to Watts & McAtee funeral home attendants. His body will be sent to Berea, Ohio, for burial, they said.
Denner died Thursday morning in Wesley hospital, where he was taken Tuesday ill of pneumonia. He was taken ill at his home November 28. He was held in the county jail from November 21 to November 23, for Chicago officers who failed to identify his as Roscoe H.H. Luckenbill, indicted there on five embezzlement counts.
Stanley Rogers, sheriff, said he was told by Neil Woodward, Denner's physician, the man's imprisonment did not cause the illness. Jailers said he was suffering from asthma while in jail, but that he was not otherwise ill. He is survived by his wife.
