He retired from the Navy. He was an ETC in the US Navy, and served during the Vietnam War.He tracked missiles on Kwajalein, in the Marshall Islands in the South Pacific for the US for years after retiring from the Navy and worked for the Postal Service thereafter.
He was a dear friend for over 20 years. He suffered many years from the effects of a stroke, brought on by a brain aneurysm which happened while he was on the hwy coming home from work. His guardian angel guided his car, at 55 mph to the center median and stopped him. The only damage to his car was a broken drivers side mirror and scuff marks to the door chrome. He was in a coma for a long time with no hopes of survival, but he did survive and I became his co-guardian, along with his son Larry Jr. I took care of his home care business, as the son lived out of state. He was wheelchair bound, but he was happy. He was, above all else, a SURVIVOR! He was quite an American!
