Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Bittenbender, who died Jan. 9 at Collins Memorial Hospital were held Jan. 11 from Williams Funeral Home with Rev. William Travis officiating.
Burial was in Graceland Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Howard Hunt, Paul Cronkhite, James Riherd, Eugene Hays,John Burnett, and Jerry Chance. Mrs. Wayne Sutherland, organist accompanied John Crawford, soloist.
Ethel Jemmia daughter of Edward and Jemmia Mark, was born Sep. 13, 1888 in Attica. She was united in marriage to William R. Bittenbender on Dec. 25, 1905. Her husbands parents, two daughters, one son and three brothers preceded her in death.
Surviving are four daughters, Frances Mater, Knoxville Colleen Bittenbender, and Dorothy Wood, Des Moines Wilberta Wilcutt, Knoxville, seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one sisterMrs Myrtle Orr Marshalltown; and one brother Pearl Mark Des Moines.
