Funeral services for Bill Bittnbender, who died Oct.24 1973 at Collins Memorial Hospital, were held Oct.26 from the First Christian Church with Rev.William Travis. officiating.
Burial was in Graceland Cemetery with Williams Funeral Home in charge.
Casketbearers were Howard Hunt, Paul Cronkhite, Herman Veenstra, Jerry Chance, James Riherd,and J.G. Guion. Mrs Wayne Sutherland, organist accompanying John Crawford, soloist.
William Roy, son of john and Christina Jordan Bittenbender, was born Jan. 7 1887 in Knoxville. On Dec. 24 1905 he was united in marrage to Ethel Mark at Attica. for some 36 years he operated the Knoxville Greenhouse. He was a member of the Christian Church and a 50-year member of Knoxvillr 100F Lodge. His parents; three children, Helen Vroom, Billy Bittenbender and an infant daughter; and one brother, Freddie bittenbentet preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Frances mater,Colleen Bittenbenderand Mrs Dorothy Wood, Des Moines and Wilberta Wilcutt of Knoxville; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren.
