She was a founding member of Congregation B'nai Torah where she volunteered. She also volunteered at several nursing homes. In 2002 she was voted Atlanta Jewish Times' Volunteer of the Year.
She was survived by her daughter and son-in-law, son and daughter-in-law, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sister Beatrice Weisbrot, sister-in-law Esther Skovronek, and several nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by many family members including her husband, Harry Abramowitz, her brother, Phillip Skovronek. She was holding her sister Roiza when young Roiza perished shortly after being liberated from the Nazis.
