He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian David and Ethelyne Matthews. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew him. He will be thought of often and greatly missed. He was a Veteran of U.S. Navy for four years. David taught graphic arts at Hunt High School for twelve years and was in charge of all print media for the Wilson County Schools. David was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He was an avid coin collector, baseball player and sports enthusiast, his favorite teams being the UNC Tarheels and the Boston Red Sox.
