Christine E. Harden LAKELAND, Fla.
Christine Cherry Everett Harden, 82, of Lake Mortin Plaza, 400 S. Florida Ave., died Sept. 8, 2005. Mrs. Harden was born in Robersonville, N.C., on Dec. 28, 1922, to the late Lexter and Annie Everett. She moved to Florida in 1994 from Jamesville, N.C. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Harden; a brother, Henry Everett; and a sister, Virginia Everett Ward. Mrs. Harden was a member of Jamesville Methodist Church after the closing of Wares Chapel Methodist Church in Dardens. Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Martin and husband Joe of Lakeland and Joanna Dempsey and husband Kenneth of Leland, N.C.; a son, Robert W. Harden Jr. of Lakeland; four grandchildren, Mickey Martin and Dean Martin of Lakeland, Jason Dempsey of LaGrange, Ga. and Jill Stallings of Broadway, N.C.; and four great-grandchildren, Chrissy and Michael Brown of Lakeland and Ethan and Elise Stallings of Broadway, N.C. A funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Smith-Austin Funeral Home, Horner Chapel, in Plymouth, N.C., with Mrs. Harden’s nephew, T. Rondy Ward, officiating. Mrs. Harden’s family will receive visitors before the funeral beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will follow the funeral at Hillside Memorial Cemetery in Plymouth.
