She was born November 8, 1935, in Stokes County to the late John Westal Coon and Hester Florence Bennett Coon.
Lillian was a Sunday school teacher for several years, a member of the ladies auxiliary of the church, an avid reader, and a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughters Mickey (Roy) Willard and Sandra Midkiff Marion; four grandsons, Richard (Shannon) Willard, Eric (Amy) Willard, Anthony (Kristyl), and Jason S. Hall; eleven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Violena Coon (Aubrey) Hill.
Preceding her in death were her devoted husband, John Billy Midkiff and her parents.
Funeral services will be at Olive Grove Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2013 with Rev. Mitch Robertson and Dr. Carl Childs officiating. . Interment will be at Olive Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
