.James E. Durbin, 47, of D'Iberville, MS, died Thursday, October 27, 2005, in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Durbin was a native of Taylorville, Illinois and had been a resident of the Coast since 1971. He was a 1976 graduate of Biloxi High School and formerly employed with Sysco Food Services. He was of the Catholic faith and an avid golfer. Mr. Durbin was a member of Sunkist Country Club in Biloxi.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Durbin. Survivors include his wife, Linda Durbin, two daughters, Margaret Durbin and Laren Durbin and one son, James W. Durbin, all of D'Iberville; his mother, Irmgard Durbin; one sister, Sandra Sims of Ocean Springs and one brother, Gary Durbin, of Biloxi.

James E. Durbin was born October 4, 1958 in Taylorville, Illinois to William D. Durbin and Irmgard Heck Durbin.

James was an "air force brat" as his father was a 24 year veteran of the United States Air Force. He grew up in Illinois, Michigan, Great Britain, Florida, and settled in Biloxi, Mississippi.

James had a brother, Gary A. and a sister, Sandra K. He was a 1976 graduate of Biloxi High School, and a student at Missisippi Gulf Coast Junior College, Jefferson Davis Campus, before illness forced him to drop out.

James worked for Ingalls Ship Building out of Pascagoula, Mississippi on Nuclear Submarines. Later he became a sales representative for several large distributors.

James had a daughter, Margaret from his first marriage.

James married Linda in 1991 and had twins, a daughter Lauren and son James. Lauren and James are members of the Junior Golf Tour and promising to be college scholarship awardees.

James died following Hurricane Katrina due to health complications directly caused by the storm.
