MR T RUCKER FORD HAS PASSED AWAY
Well Beloved Augustan Dead in North Carolina-Interment in Augusta Today
The news of the death of Mr Tinsley Rucker Ford, which occurred in Morganton, NC, yesterday morning early, will be received with regret in his old home. Mr Ford has been living in Morganton for some years, where he married a few years ago, and was conducting a model farm most successfully. About a year ago his health began to fail and for the last six months he has been desperately ill. Everything that medical skill, devoted nursing and science could suggest was done, but in vain and yesterday the end came and he passed away in the 40th year of his age.
Mr George Baker of Columbia, and Mr DeSaussure Ford went at once to Morganton and will bring the body to Columbia, where the funeral services will be held this morning from the residence of his sister, Mrs George L Baker in Columbia. The interment will be in the family section in Augusta immediately upon the arrival of the train from Columbia today at 1:45 o'clock. Mr Ford will be laid to rest by the side of his parents, the late Dr and Mrs DeSaussure Ford, of this city.
Tinsley Rucker Ford was the son of Dr and Mrs DeSaussure Ford, of this city. He spent all of his childhood and young manhood here, only moving to Morganton when his health required a change from this climate. Every one who knew Rucker Ford loved him and those who knew him best loved him tenderly. He was always in a good humor and never had an unkind word to speak of man, woman or child and never did an unkind deed. Bright and witty in the extreme, he was always the life of any company, and his society was enjoyed by both young and old. There are many hearts today in this community who will be sad indded to realize that they will never again hear his cheery word or see his bright and contagious smile. Sincerest sympathy will be extended to the loved ones who survive him. Mr Ford is survived by his wife and six weeks old baby, his sister, Mrs George L Baker, of Columbia, and his brothers, Dr James Meriwhether Hull and Mr DeSaussure Ford of this city.
