Wife of John Macie (1719-1761) and John Marshe Dickinson (d. 1771). She had an affair with Hugh Smithson, later Hugh Percy 1st Duke of Northumberland. Their child was James Louis Macie (who change his surname to Smithson in 1800), who bequeathed his fortune to the US to establish a center of learning, which became the Smithsonian Institute.
