Roy Woodrow "Buddy" Hall of 210 Peachtree Street, Roxboro died September 11, 2012. He was born in Halifax County, Virginia on January 28, 1943 the son of the late Woodrow and Sallie Henries Hall. He was hired by the city of Roxboro as a firefighter on December 2, 1964 and retired as chief in 1997. He also served as pastor of Triple Springs Batist Church for 17 years. From February 2009 until his death he served as the pastor of Beulah Bptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and did gold leaf lettering for many of the local fire departments. He was also an accomplished pianist and played for several southern gospel quartets.
Rev. Hall is survived by his wife Peggy Chambers Hall; two children and their spouses, Tammy Hall and Nick Briggs of Goode, Virginia and Charles N. and Tracie Hall of Julian, three sisters, Virginia Haun, Ruth Long and Judy Clayton all of Roxboro and six grandchildren, Matthew Hall, Allison Briggs, Rebekah Briggs, Trey Briggs, Blythe Hall and Preston Hall.
Funeral services were held September 14 at Roxboro Baptist Church with Dr. DuPre Sanders, Dr. Ben Gault and Rev. Lewis Wall officiating. Burial was in the Chambers family cemetery.
