ESTES Alex Chester "Chet", 69, passed away December 8th, 2013 at his home in Lexington. He was born in Brent, Alabama, son of the late James M. "Pete" and Dorothy Rowe Estes, son-in-law to the late Lee and Janie Durham of Conway. He is survived by his wife Brenda Durham Estes, sons David Brian Estes and James Lee Estes, granddaughter Allison Leigh Estes and brothers Cydney Estes and Christopher Estes. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the USMC 3rd BN 7th Marines, 1st Marine division, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of the Marine Corp League and VFW Post #680 in Lexington. He loved spending time on small engine repairs and his beloved red pickup truck. Graveside services will be Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-9pm at Lakes Funeral Home in Berea. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Marine Corp. League or VFW Post #680 in Lexington. Condolences may be left for the family at www.lakesfuneralhome.com.
