SHREVEPORT, LA- Rodney Ross Clark peacefully passed away in his home in Shreveport, Louisiana on Sunday, December 8, 2013. He was born in Shreveport on April 4, 1939 to Virginia Klein Clark of Homer, OH and Thaddeus Young Clark of Provencal, LA. He graduated from CE Byrd in May of 1957. At CE Byrd, Rodney was a cheerleader, senior class president, Pelican State Boys Representative, senior class favorite and was awarded a scholarship that allowed him to attend Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. At LSU, he was a dedicated brother in the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. His commitment to his SAE brothers remained very important to him throughout his life. During the summer of 1971 Rodney married Vivien Ann Bourg of Port Allen, Louisiana. Together they brought their daughter, Britten Ross Clark, into the world on April 28, 1974. Rodney was a loving father to Britten, an incredible grandfather to his grandson Wren, and a loyal friend to all those whose lives he touched. His love for his daughter and his loyalty to his friends (near and far) was something that was very special about Rodney. Rodney was survived by his daughter, Britten Ross Clark-Huyck of Corvallis, OR; his grandson, Wren Ross Huyck of Corvallis, OR: his older sister, Twyla Brown and brother-in-law, Francis Brown of Conroe, TX; and his younger sister, Beverly Porche and brother-in-law, John Porche of Lafayette, LA: and two cousins, Buddy Hudsmith and Peggy Woodruff of Shreveport, LA. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Rose-Neath Southside, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will be Friday, December 13, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
