"Powers services today at Wanette"

Services for Lon Edgar Powers, 67, who lived three miles southwest of Tecumesh, will be at 2 p.m. today in Wanette chapel with J.T. Marlin, pastor of the Central Church of Christ, Shawnee, officiating. Burial will be in Wanette cemetery. Mr. Powers died Sunday at his home. He had been in failing health for the past five years. Born July 17, 1892 in Fayetteville, Ark., he moved to Oklahoma as a child and had lived in this community most of his life. During World War 1, he served a year overseas. He was a member of the American Legion.

Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Ethel Powers, of the home; seven sons, Jack D 312 South Draper, Cecil Edgar of Dumas, Texas, Glen Lee, of Shawnee, Fred R., of Tecumseh, John D., of Dumas, Billy A. of the home and Joe A of 220 1/2 South Lincoln; a step-daughter, Mrs. Lois Rose, Portersville, Calif; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Rogers, 209 East Anna, and Mrs. R. M. Burton, Wanette, and 14 grandchildren.

Bearers will be Charley Duncan, Ralph Conley, Irvin Wadlow, Jake Goodnight, Robert Moore and W.E. Laurant. Roesch Brothers Funeral chapel has charge of arrangements.
