Mrs. Allen was born July 15, 1932 in Elkton, and was the daughter of the late John Jasper and Gertrude Williams Davis. She was a Domestic Engineer in private homes for many years before retiring. She was a member of the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church near Elkton, and had been very active prior to her illness.
On September 27, 1958 she married her husband of 55 years, Leroy Allen Sr. who survives. She is also survived by three sons, Willis Davis, Elkton, Randall Davis, Louisa, Leroy "Jason" Allen, Jr. and wife, Anna, Baltimore, MD; two daughters, Janet Williams and husband, Vincent, Elkton, Debbie Franklin and husband, Randy, McGaheysville; four sisters, Ruth Davis, Corena Moore, Irene Carter, Dorothy Sanders and husband, John all of Elkton; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; caregiver, Gabrielle Williams, Elkton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Oneria Franklin and Randy Franklin III; five brothers, Robert (Jack), Johnny, Jessie, Russell and Matthew Davis; four sisters, Evangeline Butler, Meldora Williams, Annie McKeithan and Geraldine Jackson.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton. The Rev. Francis Belle will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery in Bryant Hollow.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton. Friends may also call at the Allen home at any time.
