Born on December 10, 1899 to James Cassidy and Mary Ann Parker, both immigrants born in New Brunswick, he was their first child to be born in America and as such was the first child to be an American citizen. He married Rose Isabel Bohan on October 14, 1925 in Bangor, Maine and his occupation on his marriage license is listed as being a laborer.

Cancer was widespread throughout the family and ultimately was the cause of death for him, his wife, and all four of their children, including their son Paul who died before he was 18 from leukemia. All of their children died before they were 50.

He worked as a firefighter for the City of Bangor and served as the city's fire chief (or assistant fire chief?) for several years. His death certificate lists his occupation as Fire Marshal.

*This memorial is maintained by his great-grandson*
