Obituary

Mary Gray Kennedy, 66, of Amherst, formerly of Madison, passed away at her residence Friday, June 16, 2006. She was born Feb. 2, 1940, to Pomeroy Phineas Clark II and Audrey (Ace) Strother Clark Mathes Early in Alexandria and worked in the food service industry.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Cindy Gray and her companion, Ralph E. Davis, of Amherst; sons, William "Bill" F. Kennedy Jr. and his companion, Cindy M. Johnston, of Fredericksburg and John F. Kennedy of Springfield; and brother John G. Clark of Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Pomeroy (Tucker) P. Clark III; and sisters, Betty Clark Sheehy, Jane Clark Goff and Linda Mathes Winkler.

A funeral will be held in the Clore-English Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, June 21, at 1 p.m. with interment in Etlan Cemetery, Etlan. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the time of service. The Rev. Sandy Martin will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2654 Valley Ave., Suite B, Winchester, Va. 22601 or to the Madison-Greene Humane Society, Box 8333, Madison, Va. 22727.

The family has entrusted these arrangements to Clore-English Funeral Home.
