Hattie Marie House Gleasure, age 94, went to be with Jesus on February 7, 2012. She was born in Humboldt, TN, November 25, 1917. Hattie was an eight year resident of Brasstown Manor in Hiawassee, coming from Valrico, FL. She was the mother of V. William Bill (Barbara) Gleasure of Blairsville and Kent (Dawn) Gleasure of Highlands Ranch, CO. Her husband, Virgil Henry Gleasure died in December 1991, in Brandon, FL. She was grandmother to Craig (Norma), Scott (Harley), Lynette, and Victoria Gleasure and great-grandmother to Shaun, Justin and Jordan Gleasure, as well as Jeremy Conner and Shaun Saniee. She was the daughter of William T. Howse, SR and Lula Pruitt Howse. Her siblings were Sara Cole, William Howse, James Howse, Porter Howse and Cecil Howse. Her parents and siblings are all deceased. She had several nieces and nephews. Hattie and Virgil lived many years in Flint, MI, Owosso, MI, and Valrico, FL, as well as at their cottage at Higgins Lake, Michigan. They spent many years traveling the country in their RV and toured many other locations in the world. They also enjoyed square dancing. Hattie loved her Lord, her family and her friends. She enjoyed playing Bingo, and growing African violets. She will be missed by all who knew her. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2012 at the First United Church of Union County with Rev. Ben Lewis officiating. Entombment will follow in Brandon, FL with her husband. In lieu of flowers make memorials to the First United Church of Union County Methodist Activities Center. The family will receive friends on Friday at the church from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
