He was the son of Joseph Delbert Abell and his wife Virgie Mae, nee Payne.

WADSWORTH -- Joseph Charles "Chuck" Abell, 76, of Wadsworth, Ohio, passed away quietly on April 24, 2010.
He was born in Knottsville, Kentucky on November 15, 1933. He was a member of the Iron Workers, Local #17 out of Cleveland. Chuck was a former U.S. Marine, a Democrat and a proud union ironworker who loved his family and friends deeply. His laughter and love will be forever missed.
Preceded in death by his parents, Virgie and Delbert; first wife, Mary Ann, second wife, Joyce; sisters, Rosemagadene, Francine, Anna Alethia; brother, David; and many aunts and uncles; Chuck is survived by his children, Tamara (Spencer) Botzum, Natalie Abell, Patrick Abell and Stefanie Abell; step-children, Gail Sperling, Linda (Earl) Alldredge, Cheryl (Mike) Bartoe, Theresa (Chuck) Shirey, Lisa Randles, James (Gigi) Havassey; sisters, Frances Jordon and Barbara Perry. He also leaves behind his beloved grandson, Ryan Stoolmiller, many nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton, Ohio 44203, with Fr. Michael Ausperk officiating. Burial at St. Ann's Cemetery in Rittman. Calling hours Friday, 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
