Jay was the son of Seth Damon and Beulah Woland Seiders. He married Frances Salada of Wiconisco on June 21, 1931. She was the daughter of Eugene C. and Anna L. Price Salada. The couple had one child, Ronald Jay. Jay worked with Bell Laboratories in New Jersey for many years.
