CREAL SPRINGS -- Joseph 'Bud' Golwitzer, 69, of Creal Springs, formerly of Waukegan, passed away at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at home.Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion with the Rev. Richard G. Mohr officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Dedham, Iowa. Blue Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to the family; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, P.O. Box 411, Marion, IL 62959.Mr. Golwitzer was born on March 10, 1935, in Dedham, Iowa, to Joseph and Loretta (Underberg) Golwitzer. He married Patricia O'Boyle on Feb. 11, 1961, in North Chicago, and she survives.Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Barb Golwitzer of Valparaiso, Ind.; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Paul Shumaker of Bristol, Wis.; one daughter, Kari Golwitzer of Lake Villa; seven grandchildren, Carly, Hannah, Savanna, Russell, Sally, Sara and Shelby; one brother and sister-in-law, Gerald 'Butch' and Carol Golwitzer of Dedham, Iowa; two sisters, Luella Bedford of Dedham, Iowa, and Burnita 'Bub' Schlicher of Wadsworth; and one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Louis Stickrod of Waukegan.He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Cyrilla Knobbe.Mr. Golwitzer was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. He loved tractors and attending auctions. He volunteered his time at the food pantry and at Church rummage sales.
