Charles Scott Brown, age 45, passed away on October 26, 2013 at 7:22 am at Willis-Knighton, Pierremont. He lost his battle with cancer at that time. His spirit and mind were strong, but his body could not keep up the fight. He was surrounded by family and friends as he left us to be with his Father.

Scott graduated from Berkner High School in Richardson, Texas where he was raised and where he played high school basketball as well as many other sports. He went on to play college basketball and served in the U.S. Air Force as a munition systems specialist at Kirtland AFB in New Mexico. He returned to Texas and finished his studies at the University of North Texas graduating with a degree in Business. He moved to Shreveport to marry his wife, Michelle. He worked at various companies in marketing and sales in the Shreveport area and worked for the last several years for MSC Industrial Supply.

Scott loved sports. He served as a part time high school basketball coach at C.E. Byrd and then at Parkway. He refereed football at the high school and college levels and loved his work with the Arena league which allowed him to travel all over the U.S. refereeing games with his good buddies. He loved his church family who supported him through this difficult journey. His family and friends meant everything to him and he loved his God. We will miss his smile and playful spirit.

Scott's greatest joy was his daughters Jillian and Hillary. He coached their basketball, soccer and softball teams and was very involved in their lives as well as in the lives of their friends.

Visitation will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church (SEAS) in Shreveport, LA on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 5 until 6:30 pm. The Vigil will begin at 6:30 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on October 30, 2013 at 11 am at SEAS. Officiating will be Father Philip F. Michiels. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. All are invited back to the church for a luncheon and to visit.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Michelle; and his two children, Jillian, 13 and Hillary, 11; as well as his mother and father Betty and Charlie Brown; and his sister, Kristi.

The family request that any memorials be made to St, Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church whose members supported us and lifted us up during our journey.
