A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the First Baptist Church, Greensboro. There will be a visitation for the family at 1 p.m. in the church parlor prior to the service. A graveside ceremony will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
She was the daughter of the late Samuel Nelson Lattimore and Lollie May Doggett Lattimore. A native of Shelby, she attended Womans College of the University of North Carolina and was a part of the administrative staff there for 45 years.
Apart from family and friends, her two loves were her church, the First Baptist Church and the Pilot Club of Greensboro. At church, she taught, participated and served in various leadership roles. In the Pilot Club, she held every office and chaired every committee, including two terms as president. She worked in the Lifeline Program, served as PTA president of Curry School, was a member of the Greensboro Interclub Council and was named First Lady of Greensboro for 1983 by Beta Sigma Pi.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Glenn Adams and her two brothers.
She will be sadly missed by her son, William G. Adams Jr., and wife Julie of Chattanooga, Tenn.; her grandson, William III of Nashville, Tenn.; Julies children, Brooks Champagne of Newport Beach, Calif., and Samantha King of Shelby; nieces and nephews.
