Clyde Hendrix SURRATT, 75 passed away Tuesday March 22, 2011 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was born January 15, 1936 in Columbia, SC a son of the late Louis and Catherine Hendrix SURRATT. A son, Clyde Mitchel SURRATT predeceased him in 1981. Clyde married at 20 years old to Connie Marian Truesdale. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. They had five children and Clyde worked for US Elevator for thirty-nine years in which time they moved from Columbia to Myrtle Beach in 1984. He and his wife, Marian served the church mission in Salt Lake City, UT for the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints and he was a High Priest in the church priesthood. Clyde enjoyed his time with family and friends and also enjoyed his favorite hobby fishing and was a member of Abington Road Crew. Survivors include his loving wife, Connie Marian Truesdale SURRATT of Myrtle Beach, SC, four children, Denise Thompson of Bryant, AR, Jenien Carmicheal of Myrtle Beach, SC, Candice Allen of Myrtle Beach, SC and Crisden Mitchell of Myrtle Beach, SC, a sister, Patricia Kay SURRATT of Columbia, SC, ten grandchildren, Amberly Brown, Brandon Boyer, Brittney Boyer, Rachel Cook, Megan Gangl, Lauren Boyer, Nicholas Carmicheal, Andrew Brady, Daniel Carmicheal and Ashlynn Allen and nine great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:30 AM Friday March 25, 2011 at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Conway, SC. Funeral service will be 11:30 AM Friday March 25, 2011 at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Conway, SC. Graveside committal will be 11:00 AM Saturday March 26, 2011 at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Garners Ferry Road in Columbia, SC.
