George F. Ackerman, 69, of Hinckley, died June 7, 1976, at Sandwich Community Hospital.

He was born September 19, 1906, in Spring Township, Boone County, IL, to George and Augusta (Johanningsmeier) Ackerman.

He was married November 26, 1925 in Belvidere, to Lucile Hubbard.

Surviving are his widow, Lucile; three daughters, Mrs. Dewey (Beth) Wallis of Sandwich; Mrs. Millard (Joyce) Royer of Hinckley, and Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Larsen of Elburn; a sister, Mrs. Millard (Marie) Poyer of Belvidere; a brother, Irving, also of Belvidere; nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents and one grandson.

He was self-employed as a Rawleigh dealer for 47 years and was a member of the Hinckley United Methodist Church and the One way Group at the church.

Services will be today (Thursday, June 10, 1976) at the Hinckley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Powell and the Rev. Ralph Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Hinckley.
