Mrs. Elizabeth Brooks, a widow, is estimated to have been born about 1647, probably in Charlestown, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony. She married Robert Manser/Mansur in Charlestown on Jun. 6, 1670. She was 23 years of age when married. They had five children, all born in Charlestown, who may be found with "Mansur" or "Manser" surnames:

1) John (about 1671 - bef. 1712)). He married 1st, Mary Merrick, on Apr. 24, 1695 in Boston, Mass. and 2nd, Elizabeth Henshaw, on Jun. 3, 1701 in Woburn, Mass.

2) Elizabeth (about 1672 - bef. 1702, Dartmouth, Mass.), married Thomas Pope (1677 - 1710), a mariner, on Dec. 3, 1687 in Charlestown. She is shown with her mother making a court appearance in Charlestown on Oct. 29, 1684.

3) Robert (Apr. 15, 1674 - abt. 1700)

4) Thomas (about 1676 - 1775), married "Mary" about 1715

5) William (about 1678 - ?), married Lydia Swan on Feb. 2, 1714/5 in Cambridge, Mass. (also recorded in Medford).

Elizabeth is shown as a widow who was to have a chamber at Thomas Barber's Oct. 21, 1689. She died in Charlestown on Jan. 3, 1694/1695. Her grave has not been found.

Elizabeth is not listed among the internments in the Phipps Street Burying Ground in Charlestown. However, there is a "Brooks" listed there, possibly her first husband.
