BILLY CHARLES METCALF

Billy Charles Metcalf, age 67, 1302 Rice Creek Road, Flag Pond, went home to be with the Lord at 1:36 a.m. Saturday, September 1, 2012, at his home.

He was a longtime resident of Unicoi County. Mr. Metcalf was born in Madison County, North Carolina, a son of the late Tony and Eula Woody Metcalf. He was a faithful member and deacon of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Metcalf loved to hunt, fish and farm his land.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters: Bobbie Jean Honeycutt and Ann Kissiar.

Mr. Metcalf was survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Mildred Blankenship Metcalf; four brothers: Glenn Metcalf and wife Shirley, Marshall, North Carolina, Ray Metcalf and wife Teresa, Jerry Metcalf and wife Sheila, and Kenny Metcalf, all of Flag Pond; five sisters: Faye Thorp, Flag Pond, Margaret Rauen and husband Carl, Benton, Kentucky, Patsy Edwards, Erwin, Mary Joyce Crain and husband Romas, Erwin, Judy Shelton and husband Lloyd, Flag Pond; Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service for Mr. Metcalf was conducted at 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 3, 2012, in the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend David Effler officated.
Special music was provided by the Larry Metcalf singers and Inez Chandler, pianist. Active pallbearers were Arling Rice, David Pate, Rick Collier, Eddie Farmer, David Blankenship, and George Metcalf. Honorary pallbearers were Blake Tipton, Tim Tipton, Arthur Metcalf and Clyde Blankenship.

The committal service was at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012, in State Line Cemetery, Flag Pond, Tennessee.

Robert Ledford Funeral Home And Chapel, 720 Ohio Avenue, Erwin, Tennessee 37650, served the Metcalf family.
