John Fryar (Fryer) Glover was born August 25, 1882, in Douglasville, Douglas County, Georgia, to Benjamin Stephen Glover and Martha "Mellie" Baggett. John's siblings are: Gordon Wiley Glover; Harriet "Hattie" K. Glover; Benjamin Paul Glover; Claude Key Glover; Margaret Glover Nunnelee; Clifford J. Glover, who passed away in childhood; Ernest Willie Glover; and Blanch Glover Bishop Johnson.

John is the grandson of Margaret Brown and John Fryer Glover, a delegate of the Georgia Constitutional Convention of 1877, which is the second Georgia Constitutional Convention represented with elected African-American delegates. In addition, John is the grandson of Wiley Cash Baggett and Louisa Catherine Scoggins.

By 1892, John and his family moved to Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia.

By 1900, John and his family moved to Texas, living in Rockwall, Dallas County.
While John is not listed with his family's household in the 1900 Census, John was likely living in Dallas, as several John Glovers are listed in the 1900 Dallas directory.

By 1909, John had moved to Denison, Texas, working as a Fireman for MKT Railroad.

John married Nellora Grace Redick, either September 17, 1917, in Hill County, Texas, which is, also, Nellora Redick's birthday.

In 1918, John and Nellora purchased their home, with its furniture included, located at 530 West Heron in Denison.

John and Nellora's son, Dale Redick Glover, was born in 1921 at home, and their daughter, Nellwyn Grace Glover Wells, was born in 1929, also, at home.

John worked as a fireman and an engineer for the MKT Railroad, while Nellora maintained the home and cared for their children.

The family was active in the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), in gardening, canning, raising poultry, cooking, and spending time with and entertaining family and friends. John was an active Freemason, while Nellora was active in Order of the Eastern Star.

The couple enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren. John retired from MKT Railroad.

John Fryer Glover passed away April 12, 1962, at home. His widow, Nellora, passed away in 1975. John and Nellora are buried at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Grayson County, Texas. Their daughter, Nellwyn, and son, Dale, are buried very near them in Cedarlawn Memorial Park.

John has many extended Glover, Baggett, Redick, and Wells family members in Texas, Oklahoma, and throughout the U.S., who love and remember him.
