Obituary - Gail C. Bailey, age 93, of Escalante, passed away peacefully September 10, 1997 in Provo, Utah.

He was born November 29, 1904, in Escalante, Utah, to Charles William and Mary Alice Shurtz Bailey. He Married Reva Peterson May 1, 1929, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She presceded him in death, May 12, 1965.

Gail was a lifetime cattle rancher. He loved and enjoyed being a father and grandfather and had a great testimony of the gospel. He served in the Northern States Mission in 1926-28.

He is survived by sons, McKay Bailey and Terrill Bailey; daughters, Elaine Shurtz Knox; Sandra Porter; Gloria Winkel; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two sister, Wanda Hansen; Della Christensen;

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 13, 1997, at 11 a.m. in the Escalante 1st LDS Ward Chapel where friends may call Saturday after 10 a.m.

Burial will be in the Escalante Cemetery.
