Delight H. Ahasic 96, of Aurora, died Sunday, August 12, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at Rush- Copley Medical Center surrounded by her four loving grandchildren. She was born January 3, 1916 in Shabbona, Illinois to Arthur and Helen Hubbard. Delight married William Ahasic on May 17, 1939 in Aurora, IL. Delight was a graduate of West Aurora High School and attended North Central College of Naperville. She worked for Aurora Laundry and Dry Cleaners (the family business) for many years. Delight was an avid bridge player, crossword puzzle enthusiast, pet lover, cook and devoted mother and grandmother. Delight was a life long member and volunteer of New England Congregational Church, Aurora, IL, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and the Aurora Womens Club. Delight and William, along with their family, traveled on several wonderful trips throughout the world during their fifty-seven years of marriage. Delight is survived by her son Michael (Deanna) Ahasic of Aurora, four grandchildren, Kathleen (Michael) Goheen of Aurora, Daniel Ahasic of Aurora, Rebecca Ahasic of Chicago, IL and Margaret (Justin) Smith of Chicago, IL. Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Grace Goheen, Max Goheen, Ainsley Smith and Bo Smith as well as two nieces, Helen Campbell of Signal Mountain, Tenn. and Nan Wilson of Burlington, Wisconsin. In addition to her parents, Delight was preceded in death by her husband William Ahasic on March 19, 1996, her sister Ruth Evans and her brother Warren Hubbard. A private graveside will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Hinckley with Rev. Gary McCann officiating.
