Jennie was the eldest daughter of Charles and Emma (nee Johnson) Blair. She was raised in Shell Lake Twnshp, Washburn County, Wisconsin on the family farm. She married Otto Hjalmar "Helmer" Olson on 28 Jan 1907 in Ashland, Wisconsin.
Jennie and Helmer raised five children: William H. Olson (1907-1968); Raymond M. Olson (1908-1982); Evelyn M. Olson McFarlane (1910-1996); Gordon C. Olson (1912-1962); Audrey Gale Olson Raatz (1919-2013).
After Helmer's death in 1926, Jennie sold their house and moved with all of her children to La Crosse. With the money from the house, she bought a popcorn wagon as a way to support herself and her children.
Jennie died at the age of age of 96 in the St. Francis Nursing Home in La Crosse, Wisconsin. She had suffered a stroke a few years prior and died of congestive heart failure.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, 720 S. 7th St, La Crosse. Burial was in Catholic Cemetery, La Crosse, WI.
