Mrs. Susie Fox
REDFIELD – Mrs. Susie Fox died Sunday in the Community Memorial Hospital at the age of 83.
Mrs. Fox as born Feb. 25, 1893, at Hastings, Minn., and later married Aloysius Fox Jan. 24, 1912, there. She lived most of her married life on a farm near Watertown. The past 16 years, she has kept house for her son, the Rev. Robert Fox, at Bristol, Mobridge, Milbank and at Redfield since June 1972.
Mrs. Fox was a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of the Watertown Court and the Catholic Altar Society. She was a member of Blue Army of Our Lady Fatima.
Survivors include her children, Alois of Watertown, Catherine Hrabe, Rochester, Minn., Susie Hanson, Clark, Peter of Brookings, Dr. Eugene Fox, Monroe, La., Donald, Watertown, Loren of Yankton and the Rev. Fox, Redfield; 27 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Rienardy, Hasting, Minn. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers.
Funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Watertown.
A wake service will be held Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the Catholic Church with the Rev. Fox reciting. Friends may call Tuesday at Coleman-Thelen Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. Wednesday until time of service at the church.
