Helen Ann Whalen, 67, died Sunday, Sept. 25, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

Born in Lexington, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Effie Lakes. She was retired from Regency Manor Apartments and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Survivors are two sons and their wives, Sonny and Karen Whalen of Lexington, and Tony and Rose Whalen of North Middletown; four daughters and their husbands, Cathy and Jim Moore Tyree, Dee Dee Whalen and Tina and Brandon Pickard, all of Lexington, and Pam and Terry Hager of Nicholasville; two brothers and their wives, the Rev. Bobby and Barbara Lakes of Versailles, and James and Alma Rae Lakes of Lexington; three sisters, Evalee Planck, Lucille Lakes and Frances Masse, all of Lexington; 19 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Amy, Coty, Josh, Jesse, Jamie and Shannon, Jason and Chantel, Shannon and Shawn, Matt, Jeremy and Danielle, Jennifer, Jessica, Brittany, Joseph, Amanda, T.J., Dustin, Cody and Courtney; six great-grandchildren, Aidan, Dominique, Alyssa, Dustin, Derrick and Darren; and a special niece and her husband, Darlene and Emmett Slone.

Funeral services were held at noon on Wednesday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Main Street in Lexington by the Rev. Bobby Lakes.

Burial was at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.
