Sallie Jeanette Fenters Drayton, 92, died Saturday, December 16, 2006, at her residence.

Mrs. Drayton was born in the Indiantown community of Williamsburg Co. on January 19, 1914, the daughter of the late Frank Haddock Fenters and Beulah Rebecca Forbes Fenters Vaughan.

She was a member of First Baptist Church and a devoted witness for her faith. Mrs. Drayton also loved gardening, was an avid reader, wrote poetry, and was a great cook.

Mrs. Drayton was predeceased by: her husband, John Edward Drayton; and two sons, Wylie Drayton and Franklin Drayton.

Surviving are: four daughters, Janice Phifer of Walterboro, Margaret Oliver and Dorothy Poole, both of Georgetown, and Barbara Drayton of Charleston; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be eleven o'clock Tuesday morning, December 19, 2006, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ted A. Sherrill and Mike Goude. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Baptist Cemetery.
