GREENSBORO - Mr. Frank Andrew Brooks, 79, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday , March 22, at South Elm St. Baptist Church with Dr. Lawrence Clapp officiating. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.

Mr. Brooks was born in Chatham Co., on April 17, 1927, son of the late Carl and Grace Brooks. He lived in Greensboro most of his life and was retired from A.N.N. Electric. He was a member of South Elm St. Baptist Church for over 50 years, where he served as a deacon and teacher and in many other areas of the church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Pat Staley Brooks and his step father, D.H. Hart.

Surviving are his wife, Nona Carter Brooks, of the home; son, Alan Brooks, of the home; daughter, Sharon B. Poole of Greensboro; grandchildren, Hunter and Coty Poole of Greensboro; stepsons, Thomas Southard and wife, Lisa of S.C., Sammy Southard and wife, Lynn of Greensboro; step grandchildren, Stephanie, Tyler, Kira, Leah, and Jena Southard.
