Mrs. Collins was born May 13, 1938, in Surry County to the late Coke and Mary Jane Doss Crissman.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are her husband, R.W. Collins of the home; four sons, Gary and wife Donna Collins of Pinnacle, Toney Collins of King, Randy Collins of Lawrenceville, Ga.. and Charles Collins of Mount Airy; four grandchildren, Justin Collins, Joshua Collins, Ashley Collins and Laura Mayerchak; a sister, Lela Eaton of Pilot Mountain; and a brother, Max Baker of Mount Airy.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at the Volunteer Primitive Baptist Church conducted by Brother Don Collins and the Rev. Troy Phillips. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where her body will remain until time to be taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes before the service.
