Sarah Marie Rhynes was the daughter of Charles and Mary Lee Blount Rhynes. Sarah married James Wyatt Nichols on May 14, 1963. Sarah was a member of Hickory Tree Baptist Church for 38 years. She retired from Rockwell International after 36 and a half years of service. She lived in Balch Springs, Dallas County, Texas.

In addition to her husband, Sarah was survived by her daughter, Janet Pride; grandson, Mikel Payne and wife, Patty; granddaughter, Lesley Payne; great-grandchildren, Coleby Payne, Wyatt Payne and Peyton Payne.
