Jeanette Barrineau Baxley, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest September 17 in Asheville, NC.

She was a daughter of the late John Patrick Barrineau and Eva Driggers Barrineau.

Mrs. Baxley was a graduate of Rivers High School in Charleston, Class of 1958, where she was crowned Queen in 1957 and was Miss South Carolina Electric and Gas in 1958.

She was a member of Grace Advent Christian Church and the Ace Basin ABATE motorcycle group. For the past two years she was the president of Coastal Electric Cooperative's Women Involved in Rural Electrification (WIRE), where her husband serves on the Board of Directors. She was an active member of Walterboro Elks Auxiliary-Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks No. 1988, and was a member of the DOES Elks-Charleston Lodge No. 439. She was a member of the Stella Vitae Chapter No. 56 Order of the Eastern Star, and was a South Carolina Notary Public.

Surviving are: her husband, Kerry James Baxley; two daughters, Tammy Miller and her husband Thomas A. Miller of Charleston and Keri Ann Benton and her husband Randall K. Benton of Hilton Head Island; and one whom she loved as a special son, Terry Shealy and his wife Brenda Shealy of Charleston. There are four loving grandchildren, Dianielle Miller, Morgan Miller, Dalton Benton, and Connor Benton that also survive her.
