Edith Louise Hale Charlotte Edith Louise Hale, 96, of Charlotte, died on Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Edith was born April 29, 1917, in Charlotte, the daughter of Archie and Lillian (Burrows) Wonser. She graduated Charlotte High School in 1936 before marrying Donald Hale in 1937. Edith worked as a proofreader for the Grand Ledge Independent and the Charlotte Shopping Guide while raising her three sons. She was also a devoted member of the Gresham United Methodist Church, playing the organ there for over 50 years. Many will remember Dolly Parsley and Kenny Dodgers, her scarecrows who watched over her beloved garden. Edith loved time with her grandchildren, preparing her famous buttermilk pancakes and rolls for them. She remained witty, even in her latest years, always brightening the day of all who visited. She is survived by her sons, Dennis (Karla) of Charlotte, Darryl (Sue) of Charlotte and David of Charlotte; grandchildren, Dean (Sherry), Dan, Holli, Robin (Matt) Murphy; great grandchildren, Dalton, Rebecca, Colton, Gracen, Lauren and Leah. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hale in 2005; her brothers, Pearl and Bob Wonser; and her sisters, Verna Fredericks and Mildred Smith. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Pray Funeral Home with Rev. Bryce Feighner officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, September 27, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Gresham Cemetery.
